About Silver Dollar Winery & bowen family wines

The story of our beginning comes from our love of wine, motorcycles, auto racing & good times with our friends and family. Richard and Melanie met at Nascar in 2008 over a love of motorcycling. Bring together the genius of Richard being the jack of all trades/commercial truck driver and the brain of Melanie as a nurse practitioner and chemistry/wine advocate and the creation of Silver Dollar Winery and Bowen Family wines was born.

Established in Bedford in 2015 and Hill Country Hye/Johnson City Texas in 2020, Silver Dollar Winery has become the premiere location for Custom Texas Award Winning Wines. The owners Richard and Melanie Bowen seek pristine grapes and work closely with skilled growers to blend the best custom wine to serve to our friends and customers.

Our goal is to establish and build a reputation for award winning Texas Wines from sweet to dry red wines. Our dream began with a love of wine and then blossomed into our current dream with over 25 wines that can suit every palate. The next step is furthering our love of wine and bringing our custom Texas Wine to you from our fun pet and family friendly winery in Bedford and Johnson City.

Our vineyards for our red wines/varietals are located in West Texas in the Brownfield area and our vineyards for our white varietals come from North Texas area near Bonham Texas. It is also our goal to support and grow local Texas wines. We will offer wines from select Vineyards to help promote the Love of Texas Wine!
